Fairdrive - Decentralised Storage

Project overview

Fairdrive is a community-driven initiative with the mission to empower freedom.

- Data is owned by the user only.
- Data is stored on a decentralised incentivised network.
- Users can grant access to other DApps to use the data if those apps are using the Fairdrive protocol.

By enabling decentralised storage, developers can create and build interoperable, decentralised and open-sourced Apps so users can reclaim their privacy, own their data and control their digital identity. Fairdrive aims to bring the practicality of web 2.0 to blockchain.

User Persona and Research

This user persona is a fictional representation of our target user, created through research and analysis, used to guide product development, marketing and communication strategies and better understand the target audience.

This user persona was created by asking the stakeholders questions about what they saw were the users' pain points, reasons to believe, and what motivations unite all kinds of users together. This target user persona was then concluded as:

Nikita is a tech-savvy individual who values simplicity, trust, and privacy in products and services. She is interested in Web 3.0 and Swarm, and is looking for new tools to better manage her personal data and identity. She prefers decentralised solutions and wants more control over her personal information. Nikita values intuitive onboarding and practicality in UI design, and wants to change the way we interact with the internet.

Low fidelity prototype and iterations

After working out user flows and the architecture of this project, we dove deep into the low fidelity stage.

In these low fidelity designs we started laying out the flow and more minor interactions, with the most impactful at this stage being the Right Hand Side Panel. This is the panel in which users can perform all important secondary tasks, see more detailed info on selected items, and make confirmations on primary tasks.
